Bad discussion...asking for more attribute points is like asking for another set of teeth to grow into your head so chewing food is faster. You have the same attributes as all other players be it pvp or pve. To explore interesting builds you should just have other players run the skills/atts in a team set that you want to test....plus if you were to increase an attribute by just 1 point a lot of builds would become op and the whole game would be thrown out of wack..like Shayne said, "the amount of attribute points we have, specifically - is something that's core to the game's makeup."

But seriously - no.
The only change to attribute points in PvE that I support is creating a PvE-only skill line that includes ALL PvE skills and these skills get better by investing into that line instead of grinding titles.
Anet. Implement this. NOW.

I just beat nf in 1 day using discord (getting heroes included in that 1 day!)
using... starter armor with a sup smiting rune? sure is a good thing I was running prot.

Having 12 in all areas is op hence if were to be done just enough points ( say 40 ) may get 12 , 12 , 10 - it wouldnt really affect things that much in pve/pvp but may widen the scope of builds - eg - a build could include a skill that before as you were 1 less in a skill attr made the skill not worth using but now its on the point where its of use.
It could also help where weapons can be used where before they couldnt properly - eg paragon needed 9 motivation and is stuck at 8 max and the extra point would mean the shields doing its job without a penalty.
It could work or couldnt but it would be pve/pvp ( im also sure for those who say it would make pve even easier - im sure anet would do the points buff universally so it affects players and foes )

This indeed All I'm trying to say.. no more no less.

So I can't rly understand al the flaming in most other posts as it was just an idea.

There are some rules to remember before posting anything on the forum, I don't necessarily believe them all but if your on this forum long enough you will begin to.

1 anet will not change anything so why bother.

2 all good suggestions have already been made so don't start a new post saying anything that's already been posted in the last 4 years.

3 Don't post on an old thread that's dead and buried "see 2 above and look up catch 22 for full information"

4 assume the game is dead and the only people playing are grinding titles and farming.

5 Many pvp players like to comment on pve even though they may not play it "see Trolls"

So basically your allowed to moan about pugs and how they are not as good as they were 4 years ago.
Moan about the decline of the game generally and how its not as good as it was 4 years ago.
Gripe about how they ruined pvp and how you don't really play anymore because of it.

That should fit in quite well with the majority of flamers ideas so you should get quite a good response.

I don't support this. I think attribute points are fine as they are. It's good forcing players to make a choice between what skills/attributes to invest in.

Monsters can have ALL attributes of 2 professions at the same time up to rank 20.
Players can have... let me check the wiki...
Point distribution strategy Attribute levels Leftover
Two maxed attributes 12 + 12 + 3 0
Three high attributes v.1 11 + 10 + 10 1
Three high attributes v.2 11 + 11 + 8 9
Four high attributes 9 + 9 + 9 + 9 + 3 2
I won't actually be against the idea, but then the monsters would seem insanely weak.
If GW had real power creep, then I won't be against this at all, but once you hit the max, monsters won't go any stronger.

Maybe if it was limited enough... not enough to have all skills maxed all the way to 12, but enough to have a third one maxed. As long as the points are recovered and disabled in PvP.
I won't lie. It will surely make the game easier, and distance PvE and PvP even more. But much more combinations would be possible, and that's usually more fun...

That would be 97 points more. Let's make it 100 to round it.
Make it so you earn the points by advancing in the plot, not just by leveling up or grinding around some tittle, and I may agree with it a little more.
30 points in Prophecies, 30 points in Factions, 30 points in Nightfall, and 10 in Eye of the North.
I bet a lot more people would do the Titan quests if the reward was +5 PvE-only attribute points.

Anet added more attribute points... they are called pve skills.

IMO you don't really need more when there are hero builds out there that let you vanquish just about any area.

On topic..

PvE is easy enough, if you need more attribute points to beat it, you shouldn't be playing it.

3 heroes that can run w/e build you want them to, adding to the easiness.

If there would be more attribute points, who cares about reqs on weps anymore? <r8's would lose no value, but everything else would be blended together.

Overall a horrible idea.

If you add more attribute points it takes the skill out of the game in the forms of build makeing.

It would also make gameplay easier, allowing more points could add in for rather overpowered builds.

Imagine a healprot with 16 heal and 15 prot

Or a spirit spam with 15 communing and 16 channeling

Or an ele with 15 in one magic and 16 in the other

All backed up by a large amount of skillpoints in a tirtiary skill.

Casters would quickly become OP and the same goes for melee as well in terms of the amount of max attributes. (as much as i would love to see epic ice dmg then combo it with an air spike or fire nuke.)

Need even moar power creep? That's really absurd. What can't you do with the current 200 aps? If you really want multiple attrubutes higher then consider using multiple Major/Superior runes and/or eat some consumables for +1 all attributes and +a ton of health to balance out multiple major/superior runes. That way you can get multiple attributes as high as you would with 300aps or some even higher, up to 20! Seriously with all the means available there's absolutely no reason to add even more, even if it was a great reward for some new content.

Some how I see the OP running a W/Mo with 12 Healing Prayers, 12 Sword, and 12 Strength, with the leftover 6 points in Tactics. Really, this is to make stupid over powered builds with, nothing else. Mending wammos will become more prolific and people will think they are good because they can still put attribute points into their weapon and strength. And that doesn't even count the things like hybrid builds (heal+prot, commune+chan, death+curse, etc.).
